DISCUSSION
Since 1974, the City of Long Beach (City) has been providing services to improve family wellness at four geographically placed facility centers at: Central Facilities Center, 1133 Rhea Street; North Facilities Center, 6335 Myrtle Avenue; West Facilities Center, 2125 Santa Fe Avenue; and, Miller Family Health Education Center, 3820 Cherry Avenue.

In addition to City services, community-based services have been provided by a variety of local nonprofit agencies that occupy office space at these sites through FUPs. LBL’s mission is to provide education and programming to youth, adults, organizations, and small businesses in underserved communities to create pathways to self-sustainability and build healthy, productive communities.

This matter was reviewed by Deputy City Attorney Taylor M. Anderson on December 21, 2021 and by Budget Analysis Officer Greg Sorensen on December 30, 2021.
