TITLE
Recommendation to adopt resolution authorizing City Manager, or designee, to execute a contract, and any necessary documents including any necessary amendments, with Quality Office Furnishings, of Yorba Linda, CA, for the furnishing, delivery, and installation of office furniture at Future LB Youth Center and the WorkPlace Adult Satellite offices, located at 500 West Willow Street, Long Beach, CA, on the same terms and conditions afforded to the Judicial Council of California (JCOC) in a total amount not to exceed $300,000, until the JCOC contract expires on July 1, 2023, with the option to renew for as long as the JCOC is in effect, at the discretion of the City Manager. DISCUSSION
City Council approval is requested to enter into a contract with Quality Office Furnishings, for the purchase, delivery, and installation of various office furniture equipment, which includes, chairs, desks, couches, cubicles, and other general office furniture at the new Future LB Youth Center and the WorkPlace Adult Satellite offices located at 500 West Willow Street, Long Beach, CA.
Operated by Pacific Gateway Workforce Innovation Network (PGWIN) and administered by the Economic Development Department, the Future LB Youth Center and WorkPlace Adult satellite offices serve to extend the reach of job training programs and business services delivered by Pacific Gateway to assist residents in acquiring skills leading to employment in high-demand occupations with local employers. Through a network of community-based organizations and educational entities, Future LB will provide services for youth ages 14-24.
