TITLE
Recommendation to receive and file a presentation on police initiatives and advancement from the Long Beach Police Department. (Citywide)
DISCUSSION
At the January 19, 2021 City Council special meeting, the Police Department provided a presentation to the City Council related to Racial Equity, Reconciliation, and Police. The staff presentation will provide an update on police initiatives to date.
This matter was reviewed by Deputy City Attorney Arturo D. Sanchez on November 2, 2021 and by Budget Analysis Officer Greg Sorensen on November 3, 2021.
TIMING CONSIDERATIONS
City Council action on this item is not time critical.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal or local job impact associated with this recommendation. This recommendation has no staffing impact beyond the normal budgeted scope of duties and is consistent with existing City Council priorities.
