TITLE

Recommendation to increase appropriations in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $500, offset by the Seventh Council District One-time District Priority Funds transferred from the Citywide Activities Department to provide a donation to Long Beach Camerata Singers in the amount of $500 to support their 2021 Gala, which will take place on Wednesday, October 6, 2021; and

Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $500 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.

DISCUSSION

Councilmember Roberto Uranga would like to support Long Beach Camerata Singers (https://longbeachcameratasingers.org/) 2021 Gala, which will take place on Wednesday, October 6, 2021.

The Long Beach Camerata Singers is dedicated to excellence in choral music and enriches the lives of the Long Beach community and performers through a broad spectrum of repertoire, innovative programming, and arts education.

This matter was reviewed by Budget Manager Grace H. Yoon on September 9, 2021.

FISCAL IMPACT

This recommendation requests the City Manager Department to provide a donation to Long Beach Camerata Singers to support their 2021 Gala. The total appropriation increase of $500 in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department will be offset by a decrease of appropriation of the Seventh Council District One-time District Priority Funds in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department. The recommendation is anticipated to require a minimal level of staff hours beyond the normal budgeted scope of duties and is expected to have a minimal impact on existing City Council priorities.

SUGGESTED ACTION

Approve recommendation.

Respectfully Submitted,

ROBERTO URANGA COUNCILMEMBER,

SEVENTH DISTRICT
