TITLE
Recommendation to increase appropriations in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $1,000, offset by the Seventh Council District One-time District Priority Funds transferred from the Citywide Activities Department to provide a donation to Century Villages at Cabrillo in the amount of $1,000 to support their celebration, “Written in the Stars,” which will take place on Thursday, September 16, 2021; and
Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $1,000 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.
DISCUSSION
Councilmember Roberto Uranga would like to support Century Villages at Cabrillo’s (https://centuryvillages.org/) event, “Written in the Stars,” which will take place on Thursday, September 16, 2021.
This event will support Century’s Oasis Residential Services, which provides case management and essential, on-site services to residents living at Century Villages at Cabrillo, Beachwood, The Beacon, and other Century-owned properties. These services remain essential to meeting the needs of the families, Veterans, seniors, and children looking for support during the ongoing pandemic.
This matter has been reviewed by Budget Manager Grace H. Yoon on September 9, 2021.
STATEMENT OF URGENCY
This urgent item is being submitted through supplemental agenda to allow for timely funds processing.
FISCAL IMPACT
This recommendation requests the City Manager Department to provide a donation to Century Villages at Cabrillo to support their event as written above. The total appropriation increase of $1,000 in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department will be offset by a decrease of appropriation of the Seventh Council District One-time District Priority Funds in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department. The recommendation is anticipated to require a minimal level of staff hours beyond the normal budgeted scope of duties and is expected to have a minimal impact on existing City Council priorities.
