TITLE

WITHDRAWN

Recommendation to increase appropriations in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $5,000, offset by the Third Council District One-time District Priority Funds transferred from the Citywide Activities Department to provide a donation to the nonprofit CityFabrik for study of mobility, activation and flow in the Belmont Shore business district; and

Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $5,000 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department

DISCUSSION

The Belmont Shore business district has seen substantial changes in the last 5 years, especially in the last year and a half.  It is time to conduct a visioning process to maximize mobility and activation in the area. Supporting non-profits that work to improve our community and apply best practices in design, engineering, and city planning is important in creating livable and successful neighborhoods.

This matter was reviewed by Budget Manager Grace H. Yoon on June 16, 2021

FISCAL IMPACT

The recommendation requests the City Manager Department to provide a donation to CityFabrick for study of mobility, activation and flow in the Belmont Shore business district.  The total appropriation increase in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $5,000 is offset by a decrease of appropriation of the Third Council District One-time District Priority Funds in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department. Implementing this recommendation is anticipated to result in a minimal impact to staff hours beyond normal budgeted scope of duties and a minimal impact on existing City Council priorities.

SUGGESTED ACTION

Approve recommendation.

Respectfully Submitted,

SUZIE PRICE, COUNCILWOMAN
