TITLE

Recommendation to increase appropriations in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $250, offset by the Third Council District One-time District Priority Funds transferred from the Citywide Activities Department to provide a contribution to Long Beach Unified School District to support the Woodrow Wilson High School Senior Celebration 2021; and

Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $250 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.

DISCUSSION

As Wilson High School Seniors prepare for graduation after a particularly difficult year during COVID-19, it is important to celebrate their accomplishment and recognize the incredible work they have done this past year under extraordinary circumstances.

This matter was reviewed by Budget Manager Grace H. Yoon on Thursday, May 28, 2021.

FISCAL IMPACT

This recommendation requests the City Manager Department to provide a contribution to Long Beach Unified School District to support the Woodrow Wilson High School Senior Celebration 2021. The total appropriation increase in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $250 is offset by a decrease of appropriation of Third Council District One-time District Priority Funds in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department.  Implementing this recommendation is anticipated to result in a minimal impact to staff hours beyond normal budgeted scope of duties and a minimal impact on existing City Council priorities.

SUGGESTED ACTION

Approve recommendation.

Respectfully Submitted,
