DISCUSSION
City Council approval is requested to amend contract No. 34895 with LAZ Parking California, LLC (LAZ), to increase the contract amount.

On November 7, 2017, the City Council awarded LAZ a three-year contract, with the option to renew for two additional one-year periods, for citywide parking operations and management services, which includes staffing, customer service, oversight and maintenance of access and pay equipment, management of annual and monthly permit programs, and maintenance associated with operations of the City’s municipal parking lots and structures, and year-round special events. On June 19, 2018, the City Council approved the first amendment to Contract No. 34895 with LAZ to provide operations and management services at three new parking assets upon the expiration of the City’s 15-year agreement with DDR Management, LLC (DDR) on May 31, 2018.

On January 7, 2020, the City Council approved a second amendment to support several citywide parking projects. Since approval, LAZ’s parking operations expertise and support assisted Public Works in delivering various citywide parking improvements and initiatives, including:
