TITLE

Recommendation to increase appropriations in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $2,500, offset by the Fourth Council District One-time District Priority Funds transferred from the Citywide Activities Department to provide a donation to United Cambodian Community in support of an upcoming community mural project; and

Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $2,500 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.

DISCUSSION

The United Cambodian Community is organizing a community mural project. The mural will be located on a medical building on the corner of East Anaheim Street and Saint Louis Avenue. Additional funding is needed for artist stipends and mural supplies.

This matter has been reviewed by Budget Manager Grace H. Yoon on November 4, 2020.

TIMING CONSIDERATIONS

[Timing Considerations]

FISCAL IMPACT

This recommendation requests the City Manager to provide a contribution to the United Cambodian Community in support of an upcoming community mural project. The total appropriation increase in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department in the amount of $2,500 is offset by a decrease of appropriation of Fourth Council District one-time District Priority Funds in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department. Implementing this recommendation is anticipated to result in a minimal impact to staff hours beyond normal budgeted scope of duties and is expected to have a  minimal impact on existing City Council priorities.

SUGGESTED ACTION

Approve recommendation.
