TITLE
Recommendation to authorize City Attorney to pay the sum of $15,000 in full settlement of lawsuit entitled Po v. City of Long Beach, et al, Case No. CV10-1701 JFW (Ex).
DISCUSSION
This suit arises out of an arrest by an officer of the Long Beach Police Plaintiff claimed that he sustained injuries during the arrest. Economic damages included $6,215 in medical bills and $1,000 for bail.
During mediation before retired Judge Michael Rutberg, the parties were able to reach a tentative settlement agreement of $15,000, subject to City Council approval.
The Economic Development and Finance Committee approve the proposed settlement on December 7, 2010.
