TITLE
Recommendation to receive and file report on travel to Washington D.C. for the 2010 International Gay and Lesbian Leadership Conference, December 2 - 5, 2010.
DISCUSSION
On December 2, 2010, I traveled to Washington, D.C. to take part in the 2010 international Gay and Lesbian Leadership conference hosted by the Gay and Lesbian leadership Institute and Victory Fund. I returned to Long Beach, CA on December 5, 2010.
During my attendance at the conference, i had the opportunity to meet with the LGBT and allied elected officials from around the United States. The relationships established, and the strategies discussed, will greatly enhance the movement for LGBT equality, something very important to Long Beach, given our historic support for LGBT equality and our large LGBT population.
I am certain my experience at the conference will continue to beat fruit for our city for many years to come.
