TITLE
Recommendation to receive and file the Fourth Annual Fifth District Library Round-Up report.
DISCUSSION
The Fifth District Library Round-Up encouraged residents, schools, PT A's and businesses to "round-up" their spare change during the month of April (National Library Month) to help the two branch libraries (Ruth Bach and EI Dorado) purchase additional materials. With the monies donated last year, EI Dorado Library was able to replace the books in their western genre section.
Coin containers, with labels explaining the purpose of the project, were distributed to local fifth district businesses and over $550.00 was collected.
This year, the following organizations participated: Once Read Books, Postal Annex, Farmers Insurance, EI Dorado Restaurant, Go Paws Go, Ruth Bach Library, EI Dorado Library, Office of Councilwoman Gerrie Schipske, City of Long Beach - Legislative Department
