TITLE
Recommendation to adopt resolution calling for the holding of a General Municipal Election to be held in the City of Long Beach on Tuesday, June 8, 2010, for the election of a City Councilmember from the Seventh Council District and designating the ballot listing of candidates to be voted on. (District 7)
DISCUSSION
Pursuant to City Charter Section 1907, the City Council is required to order, by resolution, the holding of the General Municipal Election.
TIMING CONSIDERATIONS
Approval of the suggested action is requested on May 4, 2010, before the statutory deadline of May 9, 2010.
FISCAL IMPACT
The FY 2010 contains the necessary budget appropriations for the cost of General fy1unicipal Election.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LONG BEACH ORDERING, PROCLAIMING, CALLING, GIVING NOTICE OF AND PROVIDING FOR THE HOLDING OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN THE CITY OF LONG BEACH ON TUESDAY, THE 8TH DAY OF JUNE, 2010, FOR THE ELECTION OF CITY COUNCILMEMBER FROM THE SEVENTH COUNCIL DISTRICT, FOR A FULL TERM OF FOUR (4) YEARS COMMENCING WITH THE THIRD TUESDAY OF JULY, 2010; DESIGNATING THE BALLOT LISTING OF THE CANDIDATES TO BE VOTED ON; AND ADOPTING PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE TRANSLATIONS OF AND THE CHARGES FOR COSTS OF CANDIDATE STATEMENTS
