TITLE
Recommendation to request City Attorney to prepare an amendment to Long Beach Municipal Code Section 10.22.080, adding the prohibition of parking "for sale" vehicles on the entire block of Artesia Boulevard (both sides of the street).

DISCUSSION
Currently section 10.22.080 of the Municipal Code (Parking Vehicles For Sale) prohibits parking of vehicles with signs "for sale" on various streets.

On Artesia Boulevard on both the north and south sides of the Boulevard, west to the City limits and east to the City limits parking enforcement has issued 969 various parking citations and 87 of them were for vehicles for sale over the 2009 calendar year. In 2008 parking enforcement issued 1144 various parking citations and 22 of them were for vehicles for sale. According to our Police Department's records, this area is on their "chronic" list of North Long Beach locations.

SUGGESTED ACTION
Approve recommendation.

Respectfully Submitted,

VAL LERCH, VICE MAYOR
