DISCUSSION
BACKGROUND:

The Conservation Corps of Long Beach (CCLB) was established to “support young people in realizing their potential through work, service, conservation, and education. Corps members are paid like regular employees and receive educational and training opportunities while participating in CCLB programs. CCLB serves the Long Beach community through the building of local parks, planting drought tolerant landscapes, installing drip irrigation systems, as well as cleaning up local neighborhoods. The annual Dine on Pine fundraising event provides financial support to Corps members through post-secondary educational scholarships, supportive services, and training. Services are offered to 18-26-year-old individuals currently residing in Long Beach and surrounding communities.

Love Beyond Limits is a nonprofit organization “whose purpose is to provide exceptional enrichment and leadership development opportunities to youth nationwide.” By providing a wide range of educational resources and leadership activities, Love Beyond Limits gives young people an opportunity to create their own unique experiences. The organization’s goal is to transform children into leaders utilizing their 13 Stones Mentoring Program.
