DISCUSSION
City Council approval is requested to enter into a contract with International Coatings Company, Inc., for furnishing and delivering as-needed traffic paint.

This request is for traffic paint used by the Airport and Public Works Departments. The departments will use the materials to paint and re-paint new, missing and faded traffic and curb markings, and maintain Long Beach Airport taxiways and runways.

The bid was advertised in the Long Beach Press-Telegram on September 20, 2022, and twelve (12) potential bidders specializing in traffic paint were notified of the bid opportunity. Of those potential bidders, seven (7) downloaded the bid via the City of Long Beach (City) electronic bid system. The bid document was made available from the Purchasing Division, located on the sixth floor of City Hall, and the Division’s website at www.longbeach.gov/purchasing . A bid announcement was also included in the Purchasing Division’s weekly update of Open Bid Opportunities, which is sent to forty -two (42) local, minority-owned, and women-owned business groups.
