DISCUSSION
On September 10-11, 2022, at the Lakewood Country Club, The PAM Firm, Inc. hosted the Dream It! Build It! Conference 2022 Changing the Narrative. The focus of the conference was on Building Our Culture for People of Color, specifically with regards to health, wellness, mindset, and building bridges for generation wealth. The event featured opportunities for networking as well as a conference on Sunday, September 11th. Speakers discussed topics such as the “Mind, Body, and Soul” and “Securing the Bag”, followed by a keynote speaker.
People of Color have historically experienced inequities in the United States of America, which continue to this day. That is why it is important that The PAM Firm, Inc. produced this conference to address topics such as health and generational wealth in which inequities for People of Color persist. Not only were attendees able to listen to various speakers, but they had many opportunities to network and build a community of like-minded individuals. This conference was open to residents of Long Beach and was of merit due to its goal of addressing inequities for People of Color. It is appropriate for the City Council to support The PAM Firm, Inc. for the Dream It! Build It! Conference 2022 Changing the Narrative.
This matter has been reviewed by Budget Analyst Joe R. Guerrero on December 29, 2022.
