TITLE

Recommendation to increase appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Parks, Recreation and Marine Department in the amount of $3,120, offset by the Fourth Council District One-time District Priority Funds transferred from the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department to provide supplemental funding for pickleball court netting at El Dorado Tennis Center; and

Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $3,120 to offset a transfer to the Parks, Recreation and Marine Department.

DISCUSSION

Given the increased demand for pickleball courts throughout the city, the El Dorado Park Tennis Center has made accommodations within its regular programming to allow for patrons to play pickleball at the site. This Council has already approved supplemental funding for the restriping of the tennis courts, now additional funding is needed to provide the netting.

This matter has been reviewed by Budget Analyst Joe R. Guerrero on November 28, 2022.

FISCAL IMPACT

This recommendation provides funding to the Parks, Recreation and Marine Department for pickleball court netting at El Dorado Tennis Center. The total appropriation increase of $3,120 in the General Fund Group in the Parks, Recreation and Marine Department will be offset by a transfer of Fourth Council District One-time District Priority Funds from the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department. The requested action is anticipated to require a minimal level of staff hours beyond the budgeted scope of duties and is expected to have minimal impact on existing City Council priorities.

SUGGESTED ACTION

Approve recommendation.

Respectfully Submitted,
