TITLE

Recommendation to increase appropriations in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $500, offset by the First Council District One-time District Priority Funds, transferred from the Citywide Activities Department, to provide a donation to Kahlo Creative LLC in support of the 2022 Long Beach International Tamales Festival; and

Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $500 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.

DISCUSSION

This year will be the second Long Beach International Festival. This is a celebration of the rich and unique flavors of this cultural dish as made throughout different countries and regions in Latin America. This festival will also feature live music, performances, vendors, and more!

This matter has been reviewed by Budget Analyst Joe R. Guerrero on November 28, 2022.

FISCAL IMPACT

This recommendation requests the City Manager to provide a contribution to Kahlo Creative LCC in support of the 2022 Long Beach International Tamales Festival. The total appropriation increase of $500 in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department will be offset by a decrease of appropriation of First Council District One-time District Priority Funds in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department. The requested action is anticipated to require a minimal level of staff hours beyond the normal budgeted scope of duties and expected to have minimal impact on existing City Council priorities.

SUGGESTED ACTION

Approve recommendation.

Respectfully Submitted,

MARY ZENDEJAS, COUNCILWOMAN
