TITLE
Recommendation to increase appropriations in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $667, offset by the Second Council District One-time District Priority Funds, transferred from the Citywide Activities Department, to provide a contribution to the Painters Union Local #1036 for their 2022 Annual Community Picnic at El Dorado Park; and

Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $667, to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.

DISCUSSION
The Painters Local 1036 provides jobs for many Long Beach residents and has been a critical partner in completing important projects throughout our City over the years.
On Sunday, October 9, 2022, the Painters Local 1036 hosted their Annual Community Picnic. This annual event allows hard working union members and their families to come together to enjoy food, beverages, and entertainment at an outdoor setting. A $667 contribution will help cover parking expenses for attendees.

This matter was reviewed by Budget Manager Grace H. Yoon on October 6, 2022.

TIMING CONSIDERATIONS
Due to the annual picnic being held on October 9, 2022, this item is being submitted through supplemental agenda to allow for timely processing of funds.

FISCAL IMPACT
This recommendation requests the City Manager to provide a contribution to the Painters Local 1036 in support of their Annual Community Picnic. The total appropriation increase of $667 in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department will be offset by a decrease of appropriation of Second Council District One-time District Priority Funds in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department. The requested action is anticipated to require a minimal level of staff hours beyond the budgeted scope of duties and is expected to have a minimal impact on existing City Council priorities.

SUGGESTED ACTION
Approve recommendation.

Respectfully Submitted,
CINDY ALLEN, COUNCILWOMAN
