TITLE

Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $2,000 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.

DISCUSSION
Long Beach continues to be a city that celebrates all people with the goal of ensuring everyone knows they are appreciated and celebrated. On October 2, 2022 at Recreation Park from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Long Beach Trans Pride will celebrate its second annual parade to highlight, empower, inspire and normalize the vibrant Trans and Nonbinary community, and to show strength in unity with Trans people.

Therefore, it is appropriate for the City of Long Beach to support this event that brings positivity, acceptance, and a sense of community to our City.

This item was reviewed by Budget Manager Grace H. Yoon on September 29, 2022.

STATEMENT OF URGENCY:
As this event is scheduled for October 2, 2022 funding is sought as soon as possible.

FISCAL IMPACT
This recommendation requests the City Manager to provide a donation to California Families in Focus for their Annual Trans Parade. The total appropriation increase of $2,000 in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department will be offset by a decrease of appropriation of Third Council District One-time District Priority Funds in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department. The requested action is anticipated to require a minimal level of staff hours beyond the budgeted scope of duties and is expected to have minimal impact on existing City Council priorities

SUGGESTED ACTION
Approve recommendation.

Respectfully Submitted,
