TITLE

Recommendation to increase appropriations in the Special Advertising and Promotion Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $950, offset by the Third Council District One-Time District Priority Funds transferred from the Citywide Activities Department to provide a donation to Justice for Homicide Victims; and

Decrease appropriations in the Special Advertising and Promotion Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $950 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.

DISCUSSION

In recognition of the National Day of Remembrance, Justice for Homicide Victims is hosting a 5K walk/run on September 25, 2022 at 12:00 beginning at Rosie’s Dog Beach.  This annual day of remembrance honors the memory of murder and homicide victims and acknowledges the resulting long-term trauma for their families, communities, and the nation.

This item has been reviewed by Recovery Budget Officer Dee Okam on September 25, 2022.

FISCAL IMPACT

This recommendation requests the City Manager Department to provide a donation to Justice for Homicide Victims for their annual 5K walk/run. The total appropriation increase of $950 in the Special Advertising and Promotion Fund Group in the City Manager Department will be offset by a decrease of appropriation of Third Council District One-Time District Priority Funds in the Special Advertising and Promotion Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department. The requested action is anticipated to require a minimal level of staff hours beyond the budgeted scope of duties and is expected to have minimal impact on existing City Council priorities.  There is no local job impact associated with this item.

SUGGESTED ACTION

Respectfully Submitted,

SUZIE PRICE COUNCILWOMAN,
