TITLE

Recommendation to increase appropriations in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $500, offset by the Third Council District One-Time District Priority Funds transferred from the Citywide Activities Department to provide a contribution to the Historical Society of Long Beach for their annual Cemetery Tour; and

Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $500 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.

DISCUSSION

The Historical Society of Long Beach is an important organization that works to keep our local Long Beach past alive. One of the most interesting ways that they are able to do this every year is with the Sunnyside Cemetery Tours that highlight our Long Beach history.  Therefore, the City of Long Beach should support the Historical Society’s 2022 Cemetery Tour.

This item has been reviewed by Recover Budget Officer Dee Okam on September 25, 2022.

FISCAL IMPACT

This recommendation requests the City Manager to provide a contribution to Historical Society of Long Beach for their annual Cemetery Tour. The total appropriation increase of $500 in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department will be offset by a decrease of appropriation of Third Council District One-Time District Priority Funds in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department. This recommendation is anticipated to require a minimal level of staff hours beyond normal budgeted scope of duties and have a minimal impact on City Council priorities.  There is no local job impact associated with this item.

SUGGESTED ACTION
