DISCUSSION

The Long Beach Public Library Foundation works to provide family learning center programs, promote STEM education, purchase materials, support literacy programs, provide student support, and bridge the digital divide. The Grape Expectations Gala is the Long Beach Public Library Foundation’s signature fundraising event and its efforts support their important work.

This item has been reviewed by Budget Manager Grace H. Yoon on August 22, 2022.

FISCAL IMPACT

Long Beach Public Library Foundation to support their event as written above. The total appropriation increase in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department in the amount of $1000 is offset by a decrease of appropriation of Seventh Council District One-Time District Priority Funds in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department. Implementing this recommendation is anticipated to result in a minimal impact to staff hours beyond normal budgeted scope of duties and is expected to have a minimal impact on existing City Council priorities.

SUGGESTED ACTION

Approve recommendation.

Respectfully Submitted,

ROBERTO URANGA, COUNCILMEMBER
