TITLE

Recommendation to increase appropriations in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $1,000, offset by the Seventh Council District One-Time District Priority Funds, transferred from the Citywide Activities Department to provide a contribution to Century Villages at Cabrillo (CVC) in the amount of $1,000 to support their 25th Anniversary Celebration; and

Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $1,000 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.

DISCUSSION

CVC serves as steward, manager, and coordinator for the 27-acre campus community. CVC creates the physical and social conditions where collaborating programs can succeed in overcoming homelessness. As a social enterprise, CVC engages in property management, real estate development, and community development activities, all uniformly geared around the vision of breaking the cycle of homelessness.

This item has been reviewed by Budget Manager Grace H. Yoon on August 22, 2022.

FISCAL IMPACT

This recommendation requests the City Manager to provide a contribution of $1,000 to Century Villages at Cabrillo to support their event as written above. The total appropriation increase in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department in the amount of $1,000 is offset by a decrease of appropriation of Seventh Council District One-time District Priority Funds in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department. Implementing this recommendation is anticipated to result in a minimal impact to staff hours beyond normal budgeted scope of duties and is expected to have a minimal impact on existing City Council priorities.

SUGGESTED ACTION

Approve recommendation.

Respectfully Submitted,

ROBERTO URANGA, COUNCILMEMBER
