DISCUSSION

On August 19, 2022, the 4th District will host the annual end of Summer celebration at El Dorado Park. This celebration will include a display of adoptable pets available at Long Beach Animal Care Services, food trucks, a kids zone, and will feature the local Knyght Ryder band. This event is expected to attract numerous members of the community and beyond and is a highly anticipated since it’s pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This event also gives the City an opportunity to showcase El Dorado Park to visitors from outside of our City.

This item has been reviewed by Budget Manager Grace H. Yoon on July 29, 2022.

FISCAL IMPACT

This recommendation requests the City Manager to provide fund to support the end of Summer Celebration at El Dorado Park. An appropriations increase of $10,000 in the Special Advertising and Promotion Fund Group in the City Manager Department will be offset by the Fourth Council District One-time District Priority Funds transferred from the Citywide Activities Department. The requested action is anticipated to require a minimal level of staff hours beyond the budgeted scope of duties and is expected to have minimal impact on existing City Council priorities.

SUGGESTED ACTION

Approve recommendation.

Respectfully Submitted,

DARYL SUPERNAW COUNCILMEMBER,
