DISCUSSION

City Council approval is requested to amend Contract No. 36292 with California Surveying and Drafting Supplies, Inc. (CSDS), to furnish and deliver Trimble Alloy Global Navigation Satellite Systems, base station receivers, hardware and related software for subsidence monitoring activity.

At its meeting on April 12, 2022, the City Council awarded a contract to CSDS, as part of its adoption of Resolution No. RES-22-0054 for furnishing and delivering Trimble Alloy Global Navigation Satellite Systems, base station receivers, hardware and related software for subsidence monitoring activity for a period of two years.

The requested additional procurement authority will ensure continity of service, includes potential price increases, and provide for the replacement of software and equipment as necessary.

This matter was reviewed by Principal Deputy City Attorney Richard F. Anthony on July 7, 2022, Purchasing Agent Michelle Wilson on July 6, 2022, and by Revenue Management Officer Geraldine Alejo on July 14, 2022.

TIMING CONSIDERATIONS

City Council action to amend Contract No. 36292 is requested on August 2, 2022, to ensure there is no interruption to services.

FISCAL IMPACT

The total annual amount of the contract will not exceed $176,000, inclusive of a 10 percent contingency. Sufficient funds to support this contract are budgeted in the Tidelands Oil Revenue Fund Group in the Energy Resources Department. This recommendation has no staffing impact beyond the normal budgeted scope of duties and is consistent with existing City Council priorities.
