TITLE
Recommendation to increase appropriations in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $2,500, offset by the First Council District One-time District Priority Funds, transferred from the Citywide Activities Department, to provide a donation to Kahlo Creative LLC; and
Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $2,500 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.
DISCUSSION
The 2nd Annual Long Beach Taco Fest is a celebration of tacos and Mexican culture that will take place on June 18th at the Long Beach Sottish Rite. This year the Long Beach Taco Fest will feature more than 11 taco vendors from Long Beach and the surrounding region, live music such as cumbia, classic cars, and dancing. The Long Beach Taco Fest is truly a celebration of Long Beach and Mexico for the whole family.
Kahlo Creative LLC will be producing the 2nd Annual Long Beach Taco Fest event and have produced events such as the Absolute Best of Long Beach Awards and the Long Beach International Tamale Festival. The 2nd Annual Long Beach Taco Fest will provide food and entertainment for our residents, increase awareness of Long Beach to individuals outside of our City as a destination for fun events, as well as provide a unique cultural experience for attendees.

FISCAL IMPACT
This recommendation requests the City Manager to provide a contribution to Kahlo Creative LLC. The total appropriation increase of $2,500 in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department will be offset by a decrease of appropriation of First Council District One-time District Priority Funds in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department. The requested action is anticipated to require a minimal level of staff hours beyond the normal budgeted scope of duties and expected to have minimal impact on existing City Council priorities.
