TITLE

Recommendation to increase appropriations in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $621, offset by the Third Council District One-Time District Priority Funds transferred from the Citywide Activities Department to provide a contribution to Friends of Belmont Shore for their community concert; and

Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $621 to offset by a transfer to the City Manager Department.

DISCUSSION

Community events play an important role in bringing residents together and improving our neighborhoods. Community Concerts have become a major part of summers in Long Beach and create a positive family friendly environment for residents to come from all across the city to enjoy our great parks and wonderful music. With this, Long Beach should help support the Friends of Belmont Shore’s community concert scheduled for August 4, 2022.

This matter was reviewed by Budget Manager Grace H. Yoon on May 13, 2022.

FISCAL IMPACT

This recommendation requests the City Manager Department to provide a contribution to Friends of Belmont Shore for their community concert scheduled for August 4, 2022. The total appropriation increase of $621 in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department will be offset by a decrease of appropriation of the Third Council District One-Time District Priority Funds in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department.  The requested action is anticipated to require a minimal level of staff hours beyond the normal budgeted scope of duties and expected to have minimal impact on existing City Council priorities. There is no local job impact associated with the recommendation.

SUGGESTED ACTION

Approve recommendation.

Respectfully Submitted,

SUZIE PRICE COUNCILWOMAN,
