TITLE

Recommendation to authorize City Attorney to pay sum of $125,000, in full settlement of lawsuit entitled Ruben Ayson Simon, Jr. v. City of Long Beach, et al., Los Angeles Superior Court Case No. 20STCV30826.

DISCUSSION

Plaintiff alleges he was injured as a result of an auto accident involving Long Beach Police Officer Krizty Kiger on November 29, 2019. Following extensive negotiations, Plaintiff agreed to accept $125,000.00 - inclusive of attorneys’ fees and costs - as a full, global settlement of this case. The settlement was discussed in closed session, and approved, by the Government, Personnel and Elections Oversight Committee (Attorney/Client) on May 17, 2022.

Approve recommendation.
