TITLE

Recommendation to increase appropriations in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $3,000, offset by the Third Council District One-time District Priority Funds transferred from the Citywide Activities Department to provide a donation to the Naples Improvement Association for the Annual Naples Boat Parade, and

Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $3,000 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.

DISCUSSION

In an effort to continue supporting our essential business corridors as well as the importance of building community and tourism to the region through events, this financial contribution to the Naples Improvement Association is beneficial to the City. Long Beach is a city that benefits from tourism and this event will be a major draw regionally this holiday season.

This matter was reviewed by Budget Manager Grace H. Yoon on January 10, 2022.

FISCAL IMPACT

This recommendation requests the City Manager Department to provide a donation to the Naples Improvement Association for the Annual Naples Boat Parade. The total appropriation increase in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $3,000 is offset by a decrease of appropriation of Third Council District one-time District Priority Funds in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department. The requested action is anticipated to require a minimal level of staff hours beyond the budgeted scope of duties and is expected to have minimal impact on existing City Council priorities.

SUGGESTED ACTION

Approve recommendation.

Respectfully Submitted,

SUZIE PRICE, COUNCILWOMAN
