TITLE
Recommendation to authorize City Attorney to pay sum of $75,000, in full settlement of lawsuit entitled Elena Villacres Torres v. City of Long Beach, et al., Los Angeles Superior Court Case No. 20STCV01476.
DISCUSSION
Plaintiff alleges she was injured as a result of an auto accident involving Long Beach Firefighter Billy Noda on February 13, 2019.
Following extensive negotiations, Plaintiff agrees to accept $75,000.00 - inclusive of attorneys’ fees and costs - as a full, global settlement of this case.
The settlement was discussed in closed session, and approved, by the Government and Personnel Attorney-Client Committee on October 19, 2021.
