DISCUSSION

This case involves allegations of civil rights violations by Long Beach Police officers against two plaintiffs, Christopher Grim and Devaughn White, on May 11, 2018, when officers entered plaintiffs' home as part of an investigation into a possible burglary.

 

Following mediation, plaintiffs agreed to accept $425,000.00

 

inclusive of attorneys' fees and costs - as a full, global settlement of this case.

 

The settlement was discussed in closed session, and approved, by the Economic Development and Finance Committee on October 19, 2021.
