DISCUSSION
Olympic and World Games coach Glenn McCormick founded McCormick Divers (McCormick) in 1968, and the organization has operated out of Belmont Plaza Pool since its inception. Debby McCormick, President of McCormick, began coaching in 1976, and continues to operate the organization. Programs offered by McCormick include Novice, a beginning competitive dive program, and a Junior Olympic (JO) program for divers able to perform JO dives, as required by the US Diving and Amateur Athletic Union National Organizations. Each program is designed to offer opportunities for boys and girls to participate in grassroots competitions, as well as national events, such as the Amateur Athletic Union Junior Olympic Games. All participants are provided with instruction on all aspects of springboard and platform diving.

McCormick currently has 32 divers, who compete locally and internationally. At the August 2009 Dive San Diego 4th Annual JO and Novice Invitational, McCormick won the Team Championship Award, placing first in the following categories: Boys (age 9 and under) 3-meter novice dive, boys (age 12-13) 3-meter and 1-meter novice dive, boys (age 14-15) 3-meter and 1-meter dive, girls (age 9 and under) 3-meter and 1-meter novice dive, girls (age 10-11) 3-meter and 1-meter novice dive, girls (age 12-13) 1-meter novice dive, girls (age 14-15) 3-meter and 1-meter dive, and girls (age 16-18) 3meter and 1-meter dive.
