TITLE
Recommendation to authorize the Assistant Executive Director and/or the Deputy Executive Director, to execute interagency agreements for the Emergency Housing Voucher (EHV) Program between the Housing Authority of the City of Long Beach and each of (i) the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA), (ii) the Los Angeles County Community Development Authority, (iii) the Compton Housing Authority, and (iv) the Norwalk Housing Authority, which will allow for the mutual acceptance of each jurisdiction's vouchers. (Citywide)
DISCUSSION
Housing Authority of the City of Long Beach (HACLB) approval is requested to enter into interagency agreements with the above-described housing agencies within the County of Los Angeles (County ) for the EHV Program, utilizing the same or similar format, relating to subsidized housing programs, as needed, to maximize utilization of funding and allow EHV Program participants greater access to affordable housing, following approval as to
form by the City Attorney . The interagency agreements will allow for the mutual acceptance of each jurisdiction's vouchers. The agreements will commence upon execution thereof and will remain in effect for the duration of the EHV Program unless terminated by the respective Public Housing Authorities (PHAs). This matter was reviewed by Deputy City Attorney Richard F. Anthony on September 9, 2021 and by Budget Analy sis Officer Greg Sorensen on September 21 , 2021.
TIMING CONSIDERATIONS
HACLB action is requested on October 12 , 2021 , to allow expediency of issuing said vouchers.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal or local job impact associated with this recommendation. This recommendation has no staffing impact beyond normal budgeted scope of duties and is consistent with existing City Council priorities
