DISCUSSION
On September 18th, 2021, Partners of Parks in collaboration with Sunny Central Neighborhood Association and AOC7 (Anaheim, Orange, Cherry, 7th) Neighborhood Group, conducting a community event known as the Best Day Ever Summer Celebration and Resource Fair at Martin Luther King Jr. Park. This event is hosted by Sunny Central Neighborhood Association and Long Beach Advancing Peace. It will take place from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The event features a resource fair that will activate the community by connecting neighbors to resources.

Sunny Central Neighborhood Association and AOC7 (Anaheim, Orange, Cherry, 7th) Neighborhood Group has been working on bringing community resources and activating spaces in neighborhoods impacted by violence through Long Beach Advancing Peace Initiatives.

STATEMENT OF URGENCY
This urgent item is being submitted through supplemental agenda to allow for timely funds processing.

FISCAL IMPACT
This recommendation requests the City Manager Department to provide a donation to Partners of Parks for the Martin Luther King Jr. Park Block Party and Resource Fair. The total appropriation increase of $470 in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department will be offset by a decrease of appropriation of the Sixth Council District One-time District Priority Funds in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department.
