TITLE

Recommendation to receive and file travel report to Sacramento, CA on April 29-30, 2021 for the League of California Cities Board Meeting.

DISCUSSION

On April 29-30, 2021, I traveled to Sacramento to represent Long Beach at the League of California Cities Board meeting.

The League’s board discussed pending bills in the California Legislature, as well as the League’s 2021 Strategic Advocacy Priorities, which include:

Secure state and federal funding for local COVID-19 public health response and economic recovery for all.

Secure funding to increase the supply and affordability of housing and resources to assist individuals at risk of - or already experiencing - homelessness while preserving local decision making.

Improve state-local coordination and planning to strengthen community disaster preparedness, resiliency, and recovery.

                     Protect and modernize critical infrastructure.

FISCAL IMPACT

There is no fiscal impact with this recommended action.

SUGGESTED ACTION

Approve recommendation.

Respectfully Submitted,

AL AUSTIN
