Irma Archuleta
Irma resides in Council District 7 and has a long and distinguished career in education focusing on improving outcomes for historically underserved populations. She is a longtime advocate for immigrant students and has held numerous leadership roles in her field. Irma has spent a lifetime in the Long Beach region and is committed to serving the residents of Long Beach with diligence and objectivity.
Malyneath Vong
Malyneath is a resident of Council District 6 and has served the Long Beach community for over 20 years, most recently as a Member of the Long Beach Human Trafficking Taskforce. Malyneath has organized numerous fundraisers and community service events, and is the Founder and Sales Manager for Global Fashion Mission, LLC, a social enterprise that collaborates with artisans in Cambodia to implement fair wages and programs to empower families to learn additional skillsets to thrive.

Yvonne Wheeler
Yvonne resides in Council District 8 and has dedicated her career to advocating for workers. She currently serves as a worker advocate in her role as National Representative with the American Federation of Government Employees. Prior to this role, Yvonne served as an Area Field Services Director for the American Federation of State County and Municipal Employee (AFSCME) where she worked with over 82 local unions, and two Councils that comprised over 180,000 union members in the State of California
Parks and Recreation Commission
Sharleen Higa
Sharleen is a resident of Council District 5 and is a life-long resident of Long Beach. She attended Long Beach Unified School District schools for her entire educational experience, and is now an English teacher at Jordan High School. She has been teaching in North Long Beach since 2014. She belies multiculturalism and diversity are Long Beach’s strength and that we use this asset to break even more barriers to equity of access and opportunity for everyone.
