TITLE
Recommendation to authorize City Manager, or designee, to execute all documents necessary to amend Contract No. 34497 with AECOM Technical Services, Inc., dba AECOM, of Orange, CA, for the Climate Action and Adaptation Plan, to extend the term of the contract to September 30, 2022, at the discretion of the City Manager. DISCUSSION
City Council approval is requested to extend Contract No. 34497 for the Climate Action and Adaptation Plan (Plan) with AECOM Technical Services (AECOM).

On December 13, 2016, the City Council adopted Specifications No. RFP DV16-149 and awarded a contract to AECOM to develop a comprehensive Plan. AECOM has performed the scheduled tasks outlined in the Plan scope of work including outreach activities, vulnerability assessment, and economic analysis. However, there have been delays due in-part to the COVID-19 pandemic and an inability to complete critical project tasks, such as analysis of GHG reduction target pathways and oil and gas activities. Therefore, City Council approval is requested to extend the term of the contract to September 30, 2022, to accommodate completion of work related to the Plan. While the Plan is anticipated to be adopted by the City Council in mid-2021, the extended contract term will ensure AECOM is available for further analysis, if needed.
