Hakim is a 3rd District resident and is a Senior Program Manager with Jacobs Engineering, Inc. He has more than 20 years of experience in planning, programming! and construction and has managed more than 25 engineering projects throughout the country.

Rebecca Ruiz

 

Rebecca is a District 2 resident and is currently a Social Media Specialist at Planned Parenthood Orange and San Bernardino Counties, She is also the Sexual and Reproductive Health Educator for the Community Education and Outreach Department of Planned Parenthood.

 

Dr. Michael Tehrani

 

Michael Tehrani, M.D. is the CEO and Founder of MedWell. He graduated residency from USC and is board certified in Internal Medicine and specializes in Geriatrics. Dr. Tehrani, or Dr. T, as his patients know him founded MedWell to ensure good medical care is accessible to patients at all times.

Mary Hinds

 

Mary is a life-long resident of Long Beach and currently resides in Council District 8. She has a deep love for and commitment to Long Beach. Mary has served as a member on the Board of Directors of the Historical Society of Long Beach; the Long Beach Women's Shelter; and the Rancho Los Cerritos Foundation.

 

Mark Grisaje

 

Mark is a District 5 resident and is the CEO of Grisafe Architecture. He received his Bachelor's degree in Architecture from the California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. For his work in residential developments, he was awarded the 2004 AIA Orange County Award for Residential Project in cooperation with Ron Yeo Architect.

Brent is a District 9 resident and is an English Teacher at Da Vinci RISE High School. Brent's community involvement includes: Commissioner on Advisory Commission on Charter Schools for the California Department of Education, Board Member of long Beach ICO and the New Leaders Council.

 

John Mathews II

 

John is a District 6 resident and currently is the Senior Legal Counsel for the Justice Collaborative. Previously, John served as an Assistant United States Attorney in Puerto Rico. He received his B.A in Political Science and Spanish minor from the University of los Angeles, and his J. D from Harvard Law School.

 

Nigel Lifsey

 

Nigel is a District 2 resident and a Senior Fund Accountant with Post Advisory Group in the Los Angeles region. He co-founded Urban Society Long Beach, an entertainment company that hosts community and social events throughout the city. Nigel received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the Boston University.

Elyse is the Senior Program Development Specialist at Chlldren360. In her current role she provides educational programming and advocates at the local, state and national level for children with special needs. Elyse received her Masters in Education from Whittier College and B.A. in Psychology from CSU Dominguez Hills.

 

Jennifer Kumiyama

 

Jennifer is a 1st District resident and a person with a disability. She believes Long Beach residents are fortunate to have a space to voice concerns and share Ideas to improve the quality of life for individuals living with disabilities in our city and has been an active member of the community. Her community involvement includes: Board Member, Asian and Pacific Islanders with Disabilities in California, Vice President) Ms. Wheelchair America, and Board Member on the Disabled Resources Center.

Brenda Wunsch

 

Brenda is a 3rd District resident and has called Long Beach home for more than 32 years. Helping small businesses and startups has been her passion. She has 20 years of startup experience, is the CRO of Scoutbee, a procurement software solutions company, and the founder of WestCoast Marketing, an advertising and marketing company that merged into Ventura Marketing, whose clients included: H P, MGM Studios, Four Seasons Hotel and the Wall Street Journal.

 

Vivian Shimoyama

 

Vivian is a District 1 resident and currently the Chief Operating Officer at Scale Smarter Partners. Previously, Vivian served as the Regional Executive Director of Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business-Southern California Region at Long Beach City College. Vivian has been recognized internationally for her advocacy on behalf of small businesses and women entrepreneu rs. She has also served as a U.S. delegate to top conferences globally, including the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Women and the Economy Summit.

Janine is, a District 6 resident and currently a Menta I Health Administrator for Star View Community Services. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Chicano Latino Studies from California State University, Long Beach.

 

Jeanette Barrera

 

Jeanette is a District 2 resident and has been a mental health provider with experience working in Los Angeles County! and the Mental Health and Children's Family Court. She has managed early intervention programs to prevent homelessness and assisted families struggling with low wages! unaffordable housing, and lack of social support.

Lissette is a District 8 resident and is currently a communications consult with EstreliaPR +Marketlng, Lisette completed graduate course work in Spanish Literature and linguistics and her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with an emphasis in Public and Linguistics and received a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with an emphasis in Public Relations from California State University, Long Beach.

Zuleimy is a District 9 resident and is currently an Outreach Analyst for the California Department of Insurance. She received her Bachelors degree in Communications from California State University, Long Beach.

Bruce is a District 4 resident and the Vice President of State Government Affairs for the West Region of UPS. Bruce grew up and attended school in Long Beach, and is a second generation Long Beach native.

Connor Lock

 

Connor lock is a 4th District resident and graduate of California State University, Long Beach. Connor currently serves as the Chief of Staff to the Mayor and City Council for the City of Costa Mesa where he manages the City of Costa Mesa's governmental relations, Census 2020 outreach, City Council liaison services, City Council event management, constituent services, and special projects for the Mayor and City Manager.

Sandra is a District 8 resident and a Team Manager with the California Department of Rehabilitation. She received a Master of Science in Counseling for Marriage, Family & Child Therapy from the University of Phoenix.

 

Kenneth Gomez

 

Kenneth is a District 2 resident and is the Deputy Division Chief for the State of California, Employment Development Department (EDD), Workforce Services Branch in Compton, California. He has more than 25-years of private and public sector experience in human resources.

 

Parks and Recreation Commission Robert Livingstone

 

Robert is a District 4 resident and a lifelong resident of Long Beach. He was appointed by Ernie Kell to serve on the Municipal Golf Commission in 1986 at the age of 23. Robert is a former city employee with the Parks, Recreation, and Marine Department.

 

Kasey Schoen

 

Kasey is a District 1 resident and she is currently the Marketing Event Coordinator with W+ R Studios. Kasey currently serves on the California Park and Recreation Society as a representative for Long Beach. Kasey is a member of Junior League of Long Beach and an alumna of California State University, Long Beach.

 

Susan Redfield

 

Susan is a District 7 resident and a retired attorney. Her community involvement includes being a Long Beach Public Library Foundation Board Member, Assistance League of Long Beach/CAMEO Board Member} and Member of the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning. Susan received her JD in 1980 from the liT/Chicago-Kent College of Law, Chicago - with honors, and a Master of Social Work from the Loyola University School of Social Work, Chicago.

Phyllis Schmidt

 

Phyllis is a District 3 resident and taught special education at Artesia, Dominguez, and Westminster High Schools before retiring in the late 19705. For her long history of community involvement and volunteerism, Schmidt has been selected as one of the recipients of the Lifetime Achievement Award in the Press-Telegram's 2015 Amazing Women program.

Andrea White-Kjoss

 

Andrea is a District 3 resident and has called Long Beach her home for the past is-years. She is the co-founder and COO of ExtraVallis, a company that helps technology startup companies. She received her bachelor's in international business from Saint Cloud State University.

Naomi Rainey-Piersoti

 

Naorni Ralnev-Pierson is an award-winning educator, philanthropist, entrepreneur and civil rights activist who has had a positive impact on the lives of thousands of community members, including many at-risk children. Naomi has been actively involved with the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) since the age of 14.
