TITLE
Recommendation to receive Charter Commission appointments pursuant to Section 509 of the City Charter and Section 2.03.065 of the Long Beach Municipal Code, and forward this item to the City Council for approval.

Citizen Police Complaint Commission
Brent Walmsley
Brent is a District 9 resident and is an English Teacher at Da Vinci RISE High School. Brent's community
involvement includes: Commissioner on Advisory Commission on Charter Schools for the California
Department of Education, Board Member of Long Beach ICO and the New Leaders Council.
John Mathews II
John is a District 6 resident and currently is the .Senior Legal Counsel for the Justice Collaborative.
Previously, John served as an Assistant United States Attorney in Puerto Rico. He received his B.A in
Political Science and Spanish minor from the University of Los Angeles, and his J.D from Harvard Law
School.
Nigel Lifsey
Nigel is a District 2 resident and a Senior Fund Accountant with Post Advisory Group in the Los Angeles
region. He co-founded Urban Society Long Beach, an entertainment company that hosts community and
social events throughout the city. Nigel received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the Boston
University.
Parks and Recreation Commission
Robert Livingstone
Robert is a District 4 resident and a lifelong resident of Long Beach. He was appointed by Ernie Kell to
serve on the Municipal Golf Commission in 1986 at the age of 23. Robert is a former city employee with
the Parks, Recreation, and Marine Department.
Kasey Schoen
Kasey is a District 1 resident and she is currently the Marketing Event Coordinator with W+ R Studios.
Kasey currently serves on the California Park and Recreation Society as a representative for Long Beach.
Kasey is a member of Junior League of Long Beach and an alumna of California State University, Long
Beach.
