TITLE

Recommendation to authorize City Attorney to submit Stipulations with Request for Award for approval by the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board, and if so approved, authority to pay $139,562.50 for Stipulations with Request for Award with a life pension thereafter of $100.50 subject to COLA increases per week in compliance with the Appeals Board Order for Brian Watt.

 

DISCUSSION

Brian Watt has made a claim for injuries allegedly sustained in the course of his employment with the City of Long Beach.  The Economic Development and Finance Committee on August 18, 2020, approved the submission to the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board of Stipulations with Request for Award by the City and Brian Watt, based upon a 73 percent disability rating with further provision for a life pension at the rate of $100.50 subject to COLA increases per week after the permanent disability has been paid, with provision for lifetime medical care as may be necessary.

Approve recommendation.
