TITLE

Recommendation to authorize City Attorney to submit three Stipulations with Request for Award for approval by the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board, and if so approved, authority to pay 1) $6,960 for Stipulations with Request for Award, and 2) separate authority to pay $18,995, and 3) separate authority to pay $85,622.50 in compliance with the Appeals Board Order for Duaine Jackson.

DISCUSSION

Duaine Jackson has made a claim for injuries allegedly sustained in the course of his employment with the City of Long Beach.  The Economic Development and Finance Committee on August 18, 2020, approved the submission to the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board of three Stipulations with Request for Award by the City and Duaine Jackson, based upon 1) an 8 percent disability rating with provision for lifetime medical care as may be necessary, and 2) an 18 percent disability rating with provision for lifetime medical care as may be necessary, and 3) a 53 percent disability rating with provision for lifetime medical care as may be necessary.

SUGGESTED ACTION

Approve recommendation.
