TITLE
Recommendation to receive and file a brief presentation on Sixth District 2020 graduates.
DISCUSSION
On Thursday, June 11, 2020, Long Beach Unified School District hosted numerous Commencement ceremonies for all local high schools. Given the current “Stay at Home” order related to the COVID-19 pandemic, creative ways celebrate this year’s graduates were implemented to comply with social distancing requirements. The Sixth District Council Office received various referrals of local graduates and in turn mailed each graduate a certificate of recognition and in today’s presentation, they will be recognized publicly as they tune in to the Council meeting from home.
STATEMENT OF URGENCY:
Council consideration to receive and file this presentation in the month of June is requested as it is graduation season.

Approve recommendation.
