Recommendation to authorize City Manager, or designee, to execute all documents necessary to amend Agreement No. 33933 with Aetypic, Inc., of San Francisco, CA; Agreement No. 33926 with Architects McDonald, Soutar & Paz, Inc., of Long Beach, CA; Agreement No. 33914 with Gwynne Pugh Urban Studio, Inc., of Santa Monica, CA; Agreement No. 33962 with HMC Architects, of Los Angeles, CA; Agreement No. 33927 with IBI Group, of Irvine, CA; Agreement No. 33912 with Kardent, of Long Beach, CA; Agreement No. 33913 with Mary McGrath Architects, of Oakland, CA; and Agreement No. 33917 with Alomar Rania, dba RA-DA, of West Hollywood, CA, for as-needed architectural services, to extend the contract terms for an additional one-year period through July 31, 2021, and increase the aggregate amount by $1,500,000, for a total annual aggregate amount not to exceed $10,500,000. DISCUSSION
City Council approval is requested to amend the terms of eight agreements to add an additional one-year period and to increase the aggregate amount by $1,500,000, for a total aggregate amount not to exceed $10,500,000, with existing firms selected for as-needed architectural design services.
On June 2, 2015, the City Council adopted Specifications No. RFP PW-14-005 and awarded contracts Aetypic, Inc., Architects McDonald, Soutar & Paz, Inc., Gwynne Pugh Urban Studio, Inc., HMC Architects, IBI Group, Kardent, Mary McGrath Architects, and RD-DA. These firms are used to provide professional architectural design services to assist with preparing feasibility studies, conceptual and schematic designs, construction documents, planning documents, accessibility upgrade specifications, and other services needed to implement City Council-approved projects related to facility and building improvements.
