TITLE
Recommendation to increase appropriations in the Special Advertising and Promotion Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $660 offset by the Third Council District one-time District Priority Funds transferred from the Citywide Activities Department to provide a donation to Community Action Team for their annual Turkey Trot 10K; and
Decrease appropriations in the Special Advertising and Promotion Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $660 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.
DISCUSSION
On November 27, 2019 the Community Action Team hosted their 17th annual Turkey Trot 5K/10K at the Granada Launch Ramp. This is a community focused event that brings residents together with an active healthy activity encouraging the whole community to exercise and celebrate the fall season together on our amazing beaches.
This matter was reviewed by Budget Manager Grace H. Yoon on November 26, 2019.
STATEMENT OF URGENCY
The event occurred November 27, 2019 and funding is requested as soon as possible.
FISCAL IMPACT
This recommendation requests the City Manager. Department to provide a contribution to Community Action Team for support of the Turkey Trot 5K/10K. The total appropriation increase of $660 in the Special Advertising and Promotion Fund Group in the City Manager Department is offset by a decrease of appropriation of one-time District Priority Funds in the Special Advertising and Promotion Fund
Group in the Citywide Activities Department. Implementing this recommendation is anticipated to result in a minimal impact to staff hours beyond normal budgeted scope of duties and a minimal impact on existing City Council priorities.
