TITLE

Recommendation to increase appropriations in the Special Advertising and Promotion Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $537, offset by the Third Council District one-time District Priority Funds transferred from the Citywide Activities Department to provide a donation to Community Action Team for their Haute Dog Howl'oween Parade; and

Decrease appropriations in the Special Advertising and Promotion Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $537 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.

DISCUSSION

INTRODUCTION:

On October 27th, 2019, the Community Action Team will be hosting their 19th annual Haute Dog Howl'oween parade at Marina Vista Park at 2:30 PM. This is a community focused event that brings dog owners, and lovers together in a positive way to celebrate the fall season with a parade of pets and owners showcasing costumes and creativity.

This matter was reviewed by Budget Analysis Officer, Julissa Jose-Murray, on October 18, 2019.

STATEMENT OF URGENCY

The event is scheduled for October 27, 2019 and funding prior to that date.

FISCAL IMPACT

This recommendation requests the City Manager Department to provide a payment to Community Action Team for support of the Haute Dog Howl'oween. The total appropriation increase in the Special Advertising and Promotion Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $537 is offset by a decrease of appropriation of Third Council District one-time District Priority Funds in the Special

Advertising and Promotion Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department. Implementing this recommendation is anticipated to result in a minimal impact to staff hours beyond normal budgeted scope of duties and a minimal impact on existing City Council priorities.

SUGGESTED ACTION

Approve recommendation.

Respectfully Submitted,

SUZIE PRICE
