TITLE

Recommendation to authorize City Attorney to pay sum of $295,000, in full settlement of lawsuit entitled Michael Lektorich v. City of Long Beach, et al., Superior Court Case No. 19STCV02447.

DISCUSSION

Plaintiff alleges discrimination, failure to investigate claimed discrimination, and wrongful termination.

Following extensive negotiations, plaintiff agreed to accept $295,000.00 inclusive of attorney's fees and costs - as a full, global settlement of this case.

The settlement was discussed in closed session, and approved, by the Economic Development and Finance Committee on September 17. 2019.

SUGGESTED ACTION

Approve recommendation.
