TITLE

DISCUSSION

Plaintiff alleges that on or about July 22,2017, a Long Beach Police officer wrongfully used deadly force against him and that plaintiff was injured as a result.

Following extensive negotiations, plaintiff agreed to accept $195,000.00 inclusive of attorneys' fees and costs - as a full, global settlement of this case.

The settlement was discussed in closed session, and approved, by the Economic Development and Finance Committee on September 17, 2019.

SUGGESTED ACTION

Approve recommendation.
