DISCUSSION
On July 21, 2015, the City Council approved an agreement with Los Angeles County to provide Human Immunodeficiency Virus/Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (HIV/AIDS) Benefits Specialty Services, in an annual amount of $127,532, for the period of April 1, 2015 through March 31, 2016.

City Council action is requested to amend Contract No. 33960 to extend the term through March 31, 2020, at an annual contract amount of $127,532, for a total contract amount not to exceed $637,660 for the five-year period (April 1, 2015 through March 31, 2020). This will allow the Health Department to continue assisting clients’ entry into, and movement through, health and disability benefits and services, including education about the available benefit programs, assessment of eligibility, assistance with applications and recertification, and advocacy with appeals and denials.

This matter was reviewed by Deputy City Attorney Taylor M. Anderson on June 26, 2019 and by Revenue Management Officer Geraldine Alejo on June 27, 2019.

TIMING CONSIDERATIONS
City Council action is requested on July 16, 2019, to continue the program without interruption.

FISCAL IMPACT
